How the blog came about

Life is full of beauty. Notice it. Notice the bumble bee, the small child, and the smiling faces. Smell the rain, and feel the wind. Live your life to the fullest potential, and fight for your dreams.

Hi. Well you already know so much about me if you have been reading my blog. I am a pretty open book. Do not hold anything back. Ask me and I will likely answer. I even give my email if you like to contact me in my blogger profile. But will fill in some of the blanks if you have not been here before. Of course you can always follow me on Twitter, Instagram as well as my facebook fan page for the blog (I am always on there.. and links are on main blog page).

I am a wife to a wonderful hubby named Robert. He is in car sales, manages the internet department and so much more where he works and the love of my life. We have been together since I was in High School! He takes very good care of me, spoils me when he can and with the advancement of my fibromyalgia  and arthritis ( both of which I do my best to not dwell on)  that is a lot, We are the proud parents to three grown daughters and  a cat. They all hold a very special place in my heart.

I do not work, simply because the fibro often prohibits that. I call myself a modern day housewife.... a little like June Cleaver and a whole lot like Lucile Ball in I love Lucy!  So my hubby and I are doing the best that we can to make it on one income.. we are not hurting, but not living the lifestyles of the rich and famous either!  Not always the easiest thing to do in this economy. It has always been a struggle from time to time, and there has been some very terrible times for us in the past.  Thank goodness it has been pretty good for the last three years and counting ; but let me back up a bit. A few years ago,  when the recession hit, he lost two great paying jobs, we had to give up our dream home, sell 90% of our belongings and give up most of the past times and activities that brought us pleasure in day to day life. We have been through having help from my folks to get by and asking a church for food. We lived in an apartment for the first time, two different ones in under three years time, and now finally, after a lot of struggle, stress and saving every dime, and borrowing quite a few, we are home owners again!! It has been three years! Not in our dream home, not in our dream city or location, due to the market in our area, but we are doing out best to embrace it, make it ours and accept the huge change(s) in our lives.

One thing that has done for us is make us both stronger and rely on each other as a family more so, becoming closer and mending a few wobbly fences within it . We do our best to stay positive, and be grateful for what we do have....I won't lie and say that is always easy, but we do our best and that is all anyone can do and as mentioned life is seeming to take a turn for the better and for that we are most grateful of all, but hold onto lessons learned through the tough times.... that too is not always easy, sometimes we have to learn those lessons the hard way.... *SIGH* ... and over and over again. Hair pulling at times, that is life and we are living it.

I started writing this blog as a way to show others that despite a small budget they could lead a great life. I explored decorating and shopping on a tiny budget and getting a high end look. We took day-cations around the local area and shared what we could do on a tank of gas and a sack lunch. I often would share a cookie recipe or two from time to time and even would share weight loss efforts and new make up and skin care items I found. Then things got a bit worse money wise and most of that had to be put on the shelf. So then I began to dig deeper and share my journey to deal with all my health, money and emotional ups and downs and what came from that was a wonderful out pouring of love and support from readers and being told how I inspired them to not give up or give in or to maybe even look at their life from a new perspective. So I changed the theme of my blog and left it opened ended as to what I write about. And that is where it is today. Even that evolves on a regular basis just as life does. Nowadays you might find a pin up fashion shoot, a how to on make up, a trip to a winery or even a few house hold tips or how to channel your inner French girl.... and the facebook fan page reflects that in a big way!!  Oh and now coming full circle, with being home owners again, but still being on a very small budget ( because of being home owners LOL) the blog now also once again features how to decorate and remodel on a small budget, and our "adventures" /life  living on a very busy corner from time to time.

I know it is not everyone's cup of tea, but bottom line is that I write/post for me as a way to survive this crazy roller coaster of life that I live and if someone wishes to ride along they are so very welcome to do so. I promise you this no matter what direction my life takes I shall always be truthful and try to make it interesting all at the same time. As far as personal tid bits past that such as fav movies, tv, books, what I like to eat all those silly questions from the "Get To Know Me" survey's , well next time I get one in my email I might just have to share all that with you....if you need to know before hand, email me and I shall answer...PROMISE!
