Furniture with a soul - Designer Row

You start your day at Cafe Du Monde, a cup of chicory coffee delivered along with a plate of steaming hot Beignets, doused with powdered sugar. A waiter as big around as he is tall , gracefully able to carry the large platters of coffee and treats in amongst the crowded tables....once fortified with sugar and caffeine you head out ( make sure you are wearing proper walking shoes ) and head over towards Magazine street . With the influx of shops dedicated to decor has been coined Decorator's Row....aka Heaven to us passionate about interior design or just home decor shopaholics !

I learned about this street after reading a blog/article by a fellow blogger Valorie Hart aka Visual Vamp of Perch, also in N'awlins who writes for GO NOLA ( The Official What's going on in New Orleans) posted a link to the blog that was titled No More MDF..... it caught my eye and well had to take a look . What it was all about was a shop on Magazine street called Nadeau , they have reasonably priced furniture already assembled and made of solid wood ...no more needing to go to a certain boxed store where everything comes in a box and is made of MDF. Although believe me, those stores have a purpose in the budget design of home and even professional decorators all over the world and I too purchase from them on a regular basis to stay within a tight budget ! But off that rabbit trail LOL this furniture at Nadeau has real character and soul..... and a great way to keep our "vintage" treasures out of the landfills too .

So next time you are out traveling about, if you happen to be in the beautiful city that is New Orleans make sure you head over to Magazine street and remember to also stop off and say hello to Valorie over at Perch as well!

*Side note if you are like me and your budget will not even allow going out of your bubble of your home town very often there are many a place to find similar types of furniture....my fav place is my local consignment store and well my daughter found "My" dream chair, but took it to her home at Goodwill, and do not give up, check back weekly at these places as stock changes and often so do the prices!
