Independence Day

*all images were through a google search typing in 4th of July 1920's, Independence Day 1920's and Patriotic Women of 1920's
Happy Independence day!!!! I hope everyone is either having a wonderful day so you see this a day late, or perhaps you are celebrating tonight, or perhaps you celebrated yesterday, that is what we did. We went to our youngest daughter's, boyfriend's Mom's house.... did you get that??

Everyone chipped in food and brought the fireworks we had bought to pool them together. After surviving the triple digits at the end of the day, we dined on hot dogs, chicken even lamb, along with the usual chips and dip and macaroni salad, finishing up with the cut up Strawberries & Blackberries we had brought for dessert with a dollop of whipped cream of course. Simple, but yummy. Then it was fireworks time. My hubbies favorite time! His birthday is on the 16th and I always buy him fireworks so he celebrates early! Makes him happy, and it certainly makes for easy shopping!

No...this is not hubby....but it is a very happy Uncle Sam *giggle*
On a tiny side note...I was of course over dressed, but at least I was in the theme of the day .....red, white and blue with sparkles!!

Anyway....so we gathered out near the front curb, chairs were set up, buckets of water near by for safety, and the guys got set up for their own mini show, while us women and the few children there relaxed and awaited the snap, crackle, pop and whistle and of course the pretty lights of the fireworks.

Thought I would share some photos of the "pretty lights"One was even called "Pink Diamonds"! *giggle*

The neighbors shooting off illegals....Police helicopters went over and they went inside.

Our finish to our show.

Happy & Safe Holiday Wishes To You & Yours!

  4. Fantastic! I love fireworks, we had a feast and enjoyed it with friends this time. I'd much rather be "over dressed" than under any day! Loving your sparkly shoes. Have a wonderful week! :)
